For enthusiasts worldwide Ferrari is synonymous with racing. The only constructor to have taken part in Formula 1 since the very beginning, much of Ferrari's motorsport history has also been written by privateers racing cars developed directly from the company's production models.

Ferrari's involvement in the highly-competitive GT field has been renewed in the past few years with production of models developed for non-works teams. Along with the 360 Challenge built specifically for Ferrari's international one-make series, the company has developed FIA GT-specification versions both of the mid-engined berlinetta and the 575M Maranello.
